Your in to the Industry
Real learning goes beyond the classroom. This is why we keep an open dialogue with the industry to gain valuable insight and exposure.
Program Advisory Committees
Our Program Advisory Committees make certain our diploma programs remain aligned with market expectations. These committees are made up of external industry professionals who provide insight and recommendations on a program’s effectiveness, the latest industry trends, and development opportunities—so that you can graduate with the skills, industry knowledge and confidence essential for success today.
Committee members represent a wide range of specialties, including film producers, casting directors, animators, screenwriters, creative executives, and more.
Work Placement Program
Graduate Employment/ Full Time Jobs:
We source full-time jobs related to TFS programs of study for students who have recently graduated.
These opportunities are shared directly with eligible students and are posted to the internal TFS Alumni Job Board.
Part Time Jobs
We post part time jobs within the Greater Toronto Area for all students currently studying at TFS.
These part time job opportunities are offered to students that are looking for a side hustle.
Networking
A solid network is half (if not more) the success.

Exclusive to TFS, and outside of the curriculum, you will be invited to join a variety of student centric and curated events—spearheaded by accomplished industry professionals. These include invitations to In Conversation events held live and streamed from a downtown theatre.

Student Fest
A student-led initiative, Student Fest is an opportunity for you to collaborate with other students and win prizes. Past Student Fest partners include:
Festival of Films
Once a year, Toronto Film School hosts the Festival of Films, an awards event where student films are screened in a downtown movie theatre (i.e.: TIFF LightBox). 18 different categories are judged by a panel of industry professionals and faculty.
Modern Studios and Industry-Grade Equipment
Our 17,000 square-foot studio at 460 Yonge Street is home to five studios, vocal booth, equipment room, lounge and classrooms. Additional studios are located just down the street at our 10 Dundas Street campus. Our Film Production students are able to shoot their films on the latest filmmaking equipment from:
Studio Screenings
Often Toronto Film School hosts advance studio screenings of an upcoming film, or has exclusive access to big studios pre-screenings.
ACTRA partnership
Acting for Film, TV and the Theatre Diploma Program are eligible for their first membership credit with the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA). This credit, made possible through a partnership between Toronto Film School and ACTRA, means graduates will only have to earn two more credits in ACTRA’s Apprentice Program to become a full ACTRA member (three credits in total are required). Toronto Film School is the first private career college in Ontario to qualify.
Video Game Industry Nights
Regularly, the faculty of our video game programs host an Industry Night, designed to hear from alumni who are now enjoying dream careers doing what they love. Industry Nights are also an opportunity to make new contacts, ask questions, and partake in special events like a live build of a model for a video game.
